Eco Staining on Paper and Fabrics

In this master class we will delve into the captivating world of Eco-Staining Techniques. In this hands-on course, I will guide you through the process of using homemade spray stains, teas and inks to transform fabrics and papers into luscious, visually captivating artworks.

Throughout our journey together, you will learn how to harness the beauty of natural elements such as rusty pieces and other found objects to create intricate shapes and patterns. We will explore an easy and repeatable process that allows you to stain inside the comfort of your work table, bringing forth unique textures and colors that reflect the beauty of the natural world.

I will unveil some unusual stains that are easily accessible yet highly effective in this process, opening doors to a world of creative possibilities. This course will consist of one pre-recorded 2-hour session where you will gain a foundational understanding of the staining techniques and materials involved.

Following the pre-recorded session, we will reconvene a week later for a live Zoom session. During this interactive session, I will be available to answer your questions, provide guidance to overcome any challenges you may have encountered, and most importantly, celebrate your favorite eco-stained pieces. This live session serves as an opportunity for us to come together as a community of artists, sharing our experiences and insights gained from the creative process.

By the end of this course, you will not only have acquired new skills in eco-staining but also cultivated a deeper appreciation for the beauty and versatility of natural elements in artmaking. Join me on this enriching journey as we transform fabrics and papers into stunning works of art that celebrate the harmony between creativity and nature.
